Three Thoughts for Saturday 2/10/12

  • I wonder, does it make me a bad guy to not enjoy listening to music I’ve loved all my life because I found out somebody who has caused me pain loves the same music and the association is too strong to ignore?  Or does that make me weak?
  • My Aunt Violet has said more than once, “There’s no better place to be than on the inside of a hug”
  • “Cutting Edge” is sometimes another way of saying “putting lipstick on a pig.”

It doesn’t make you bad nor weak. It just is. I love opera music but listening the male opera singers is too difficult for me because it sounds too much like my father’s voice. He has a wonderful voice but it is a connection to him that I cannot handle. So I have to turn it off. Does that make sense? You do what is best for you and you cling to that which does not cause you strife. Your Aunt Violet is very wise. And lipstick on a pig is entirely dependent on the color one chooses.

I agree with your Aunt Violet! And I don’t think it makes you weak at all! But give it soem time … hopefully the association will fade. I find that for me it usually does.

My Aunt Violet is such a wise woman. And she’s funny and generous as well.

Yeah, I hope so. Time is a great healer.
