Trash Day
Promises consumed like toasted
bagels by sumptuous liars
Promises caressed and fondled
by polished sorrow
Promises kicked to the curb
without a backwards glance.

I combined two prompts here, one for “Jane’s Inspirations” “Sublime Saturday #8″ and 3WW CLXVI and came up with a snappy little poem. It’s so good to be finished with NaNoWriMo, but that was a fantastic experience.

7 days late for 3WW is still better than never, right? …
That last line stanza is fantastic. I’m not saying the other stanza aren’t good too… and that last stanza is great.
The second stanza has a totally different feel from the last one, and the two complement each other.
The one that sort of trips me up a bit is the first stanzy; I am not sure why sumptuous fits although, of course, I know it to be a 3WW prompt, and they can be buggers to shoehorn in sometimes.
Nonetheless, I do enjoy the poem, especially the last stanza. It rocks my ears.
Oh. And I have finally figured out what NaNoWriMo is. Wow. Congratulations.
