Tender Mercy #21

Let’s go throw all the songs we know
into the sea and

blend them with just out of reach
ocean rhythms and

time breaks singing in a resurgent
hiss and lap ebb

and flow as the songs we know
sliding off the sandbar

slowly float out to sea only to
return with the tides

I read the first line of this on a Last.fm page, and was inspired…Who knew it was a song by The Cure?  This is another in the Tender Mercy series which is growing sort of like poetic kudzu.

Another in the Tender Mercy series, that works for 3WW as well…this weeks words are hassle, inject and wealth

—-

Summer as a kid wasn’t full
of hassles like paying bills
and taxes and car repair but

with the pesky problems of
mosquito’s that inject their
itchy poison into your pieces
parts leading to a wealth

of itchy scratchy places and
we didn’t seem to mind it so
much when we had summers
as a kid now did we?

It turns me on;
Metaphoric passports
to the unknown masters,
Whispering the blues.

Zeppelin shadows,
Popping puddles in
midsummer daydreams.
Breezes from the edge.

Toxic rains fall not
from only the heavens.
Domestic gods and
Dusting share the blame.

Another in the Tender Mercy series…

Tender Mercy #12F

               –1–

The Cowboy Rides
through invisible
                    societies.
He is recognized       yet
barely acknowledged.

             –2–

The Cowboy Rides
through aerodynamic
                     transgression.
He stumbles upon a
bipartisan handbook.
He wanted to die
     with his family.

             –3–

The Cowboy Rides
through carbon canyons,
A fog of devilish winds.

                The Cowboy rides.
                The Cowboy rides.

I tried to write to the prompt, but since the beginning of the week, I’ve been building puzzles made of words and sounds and flow and that have little to do with Mercy or anything remotely Tender.  Yet, I feel compelled to run them in a series titled Tender Mercy.  This is the 12th in that series and a couple of others can be found by clicking here.
